The Alcohol & Public Health Research Unit is an independent, peer reviewed research organisation with an international reputation. We are based in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Auckland, New Zealand.
We are a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre on Alcohol and Other Drugs. We are also a member of the international Kettil Bruun Society for Social and Epidemiological Research on Alcohol.
As a multi-disciplinary unit, we undertake a range of descriptive research (quantitative and qualitative), policy analysis, community action research and evaluation research. Much of our alcohol research focuses on harm prevention through national policy and community action.
